Student from Perm won the competition organized by Russian Foreign Ministry Representation in Ekaterinburg
Russian Foreign Ministry Representation in Yekaterinburg was set up 25 years ago and since then it has been involved into promoting the state policy in international relations within the Ural Federal District and the Perm Krai.
The Representation organized a special opportunity for the students of Foreign Relations faculties to use their research skills and take part in diplomatic activities in the region, namely, the competition of students essays on a topic of their choice related to vital international relation issues. The competition stated in September of 2021.
The competition was joined by 95 students from 9 universities of Yekaterinburg, Perm, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk. 25 best essays were shortlisted to be published in a special edition produced by Representation.
The competition finals were held on October 12, 2021, where “top 5” of the essays were presented in a videoconference.
Olga Varaksa, one of the finalists, the first-year Master Degree Course student at Perm Polytechnical University, represents Perm. In her essay she covers a number of successful international projects in a variety of areas - medicine, youth and social organizations, etc., including the ones organized on-line. Olga concludes: “Russia and Germany, in spite of sanctions and challenges of the pandemic, continue to aim at creating strong and mutually beneficial partnership relations in all spheres, using the new forms of interaction”.
